De Kraal Estate consists of four detached houses with a total of nine furnished and modernly equipped cottages. All cottages have their own entrances and private garden areas.

Cycad

The Cycad House has one apartment with two bedrooms, two en suite bathrooms, an open kitchen and a large living room.

Tree House

The Tree House includes the cottages Oak-Tree, Willow-Tree and Jacaranda. All three cottages have their own entrance and a private garden seating area.

Kunsthuis

The Kunsthuis has on one side the double apartment Shiraz and to the front the almost same apartments, Pinotage and Chardonnay

Zulema

Zulema House includes the Lemon Tree cottage, which is spread over three floors and the Zulema apartment with the private swimming pool.

 Thatched Cape Dutch house with private swimming pool

Zulema House is a beautiful 2-bedroom 180m2 traditional thatched Cape Dutch house. It includes a private swimming pool and garden. It has two patio areas, one in front of the house and a separate patio closer to the pool, ideal for BBQ’s. The main bedroom is spacious with en-suite bathroom and view to the garden.

The other bedroom with en-suite bathroom has a private access to the garden. Zulema is suitable for families or romantic couples wanting space and privacy and mid to long term rentals. You will feel the old-world charm in this house.

In addition to the tennis court there are three ponds, a large garden pavilion with thatched roof including and water and electricity access and an own toilet. This is an ideal place for barbecues and larger events.

The four houses of the Dekraal are situated in the middle of a two hectare award-winning botanical garden (2nd place 2004) with illuminated paths and partly covered seating.

For bird lovers there is a place called birdwatch. Over the hanging bridge it is possible to visit the largest pond where you can canoe to the small island with ducks.

Water

The facility has its own groundwater which is used as drinking water. The water for the ponds and the irrigation system is pumped out of the river (exitsting water rights) and stored in tanks.

Solar

The swimming pools – rockpool and the pool at Zulema House – are heated with solar energy

Willow Tree is a 36m2 studio apartment with an open plan bedroom and living area. It has a relaxing shaded patio under the giant Willow Tree and has easy access to the Rock Pool and other amenities.

It is located in the main estate. Willow tree is suitable for couples.

Shiraz is a 112m2 comfortably furnished bungalow with 2 en suite bedrooms and 2 loft mezzanine levels. It can easily accommodate a large family or two small families with comfortable living areas.
